About Medident Financial Planning

Medident Financial Planning

We are Independent Financial Advisers (IFAs) authorised by the Financial Services Authority (FSA) and whilst specialist advice to doctors and dentists remains very much a core part of our business the success of the company in providing a personal quality service has resulted in referrals from clients broadening our advice and client base to include:

  • Oil and gas industry UK & international
  • Teaching
  • Farming
  • Legal profession
  • Local authority employees
  • Veterinary practices
  • Bank employees

Medident Financial Planning Limited was established by director Kevin Bremner on the back of his considerable experience and expertise in providing financial planning advice to the medical and dental professions.  This depth of experience comes from over thirty years of working in financial services, the IFA sector since 1987, and Senior Area Manager, Scotland with MIA Financial Services, a national IFA now part of the Skipton Building Society.

"I established Medident Financial Planning to fill the void created locally in Tayside, Angus and Aberdeenshire as a result of national financial advice companies closing offices and centralising their services.  This has expanded as a direct result of client referrals and people becoming more comfortable with using technology to source their financial planning requirements, to dealing with enquiries throughout Scotland, the UK and internationally. Although technology plays a major part in the financial planning process these days, this still remains very much a people business, listening to clients and creating the trust required to establish a long term business relationship - that is what we do"

Kevin is currently studying for the CII Diploma in Financial Planning.

How can you benefit from our services?

We can help you:

  • Ensure that you and your family are protected in the event of your death or major illness
  • Buy your first/next home or remortgage
  • Build a strategy for retirement
  • Protect your standard of living when you do retire
  • To protect your estate from Inheritance Tax

The Financial Services and Markets Act 2000 requires that financial advisors obtain information about their customers before offering advice or recommendations.  This makes sense as without personal information it would be impossible to recommend a financial plan that suits an individual's specific requirements.  As part of this initial process we ask that you either complete an online enquiry form that only takes a couple of minutes or contact us direct.

You will then need to complete a full fact find either by telephone or face to face with a financial planner.  On receipt of the required information your personal finances and circumstances will be reviewed and if you have any specific requirements these will be taken into account in any recommendations.  You will then receive a personal financial planning report and if necessary we will contact you to discuss the recommendations and any further requirements.  The initial consultation is free and you are not obligated to take up any recommendations although this may be advisable.

Financial planning is an ongoing process rather than a one-off exercise, so it will be necessary to conduct regular reviews to ensure any changes in your circumstances or priorities are catered for.  Also, legislation and taxation are liable to change or amendment which may require adjustments to your plan.
